World Indigenous Peoples Day 2022: Thime, History, Celebrated on 9 August

World Indigenous Peoples Day 2022: World Indigenous Day International Day of the Indigenous Peoples of the World Widely observed on 9th August, the fundamental rights of the entire population living on an island, land or water, forest, land and their social, economic, and judicial protection. The celebration of this day also acknowledges the achievements and contributions that the tribal people raise to the world issues like environmental protection, freedom, great movements, etc. It was first declared by the United Nations General Assembly on the day of its primary meeting in December 1994. The celebration of World Tribal Day started in 1994. The United Nations General Assembly declared the celebration of World Indigenous Day. The government of the country is not doing anything special for the development of the tribals.

What is the purpose of World Indigenous Day?

India has many tribal areas where there is no accessible toilet system till now. Nor is there a paved road. People still use the footpath to go to the market. There is no primary health center.

To make people aware of this, every year on 9 August, World Tribal Day goes. In India, 32 percent of the population lives in which Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and eastern states live the most. They are considered to be the original inhabitants of India.
