Why is National Handloom Day celebrated? National Handloom Day is celebrated on August 7, 1905 to mark the beginning of the Swadeshi Movement. The movement encouraged Indians to wear their own hand-woven fabrics by indigenous communities and to condemn foreign-made garments.
